TEACHING

The department maintains a balanced view to theory and practice in its approach to teaching and research. Careful consideration is given to providing the latest hardware and software facilities to meet the demands of teaching and research programmes.

During the first two years with the department, students are trained in the fundamentals of mathematics, physics, electrical engineering and computer science. After this preparatory period, students are encouraged to propose a study program for themselves from a pool of available course options. In composing their study programmes, students are expected to follow the academic rules and regulations of CTU and to certain regulations published by the department.

These courses cover the following areas:

  • database and information systems
  • operation systems
  • structures of programming languages and compiler
  • automated design of digital systems
  • distributed systems and computer networks
  • computer architecture
  • programming WWW applications (Java) and user interface
  • software engineering
