Our goal is to provide quality education in information technology. In our two main study programs Open Informatics and Software management, we educate students on bachelor and master level to become qualified professionals and experts, who easily find their place on the job market or continue gaining more knowledge on graduate level. Our PhD graduates are ready to perform excellent research in computer science ad pursue their career in academia.

The department has been very active and successful in research. It is involved in several research projects addressing the current trends in computer science. Thanks to these projects and support from both the state budget and cooperating companies and institutions, the department has acquired and is gradually improving a sophisticated technological infrastructure consisting of a large number of computers interconnected into a number of local networks.
